Call To Worship
We confess the supremacy of God in Christ through both responsive reading and song.

Our Spoken Call to Worship
Psalm 95:1-2, 6-7
Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.

TIME OF REFLECTION TO PREPARE OUR HEARTS FOR WORSHIP.

Behold Our God

Confession
We confess our need for mercy through both responsive reading and song.

Our Spoken Confession
A prayer based on the teaching of Jesus.
From The Worship Sourcebook, 2nd ed.

Lord, you said, “If you love me, you will obey what I command.”

Forgive us our lukewarm love and our disobedience.

Lord, you said, “You may ask for anything in my name.”

Forgive us when we think we need to solve our own problems.

Lord, you said, “Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

We confess that our lives are often consumed by worry and anxiety.

Lord, you said, “If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit.”

Forgive us our barren lives, Lord.

Lord, you said, “You must testify, for you have been with me.”

We confess, Lord, that we have been too often silent.

Lord, you said, “Love each other as I have loved you.”

In this and in so many other ways, we confess our failures and shortcomings.

Amen.

Assurance and Peace
We profess our assurance of salvation and peace in Christ through both responsive reading and song.

Our Spoken Profession of Assurance
Remember the Gospel
Lamentations 3:20-24
My soul continually remembers it and is bowed down within me. But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,“ says my soul, “Therefore I will hope in him.”

Thanksgiving and Petition

We Give Thanks in Prayer and Offer Petitions to God
We express our gratitude to God our Father for Christ’s work on the cross for us and bring our requests before him. In bringing our requests, we confess that we believe God truly is a good father, who cares about our needs and gives us what he knows is best.

We Give Thanks by Giving
We give financial offerings to support the work of the church because of our gratitude to God. By giving we confess we are trusting in God’s provision for us as well.

Scripture Reading
We hear the scripture text of the sermon read.
Colossians 3:18-25

18Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. 19Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them. 20Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. 21Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged. 22Slaves, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not by way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord. 23Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, 23knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. 25For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no partiality.

The Lord’s Supper
This morning we will be celebrating the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper.

If you have trusted Christ as your Lord and Savior, have been baptized and are a member in good standing of a local church we invite you to share in this covenant meal with us.
If you are not able to receive the Lord’s Supper with us, please use this time to meditate on one of the following prayers.

PRAYER FOR THOSE SEARCHING FOR THE TRUTH
Lord Jesus, You claim to be the Way, the Truth and the Life. If what You claim is true, please guide me, teach me and open me to the reality of who You are. Grant that I might be undaunted in my pursuit of knowing You. Give me an understanding of You that is coherent and convincing, and that leads me to the life in You. Amen.

PRAYER OF BELIEF
Lord Jesus I admit that I am weaker and more sinful than I ever dared admit, but through You I am more loved and accepted than I ever dared hope. I thank You for paying my debt on the cross, taking what I deserve in order to purchase my complete forgiveness. Knowing that You have been raised form the dead, I turn form my sins and receive You as My Savior and Lord. Amen.

PRAYER OF COMMITMENT
Lord Jesus, You have called us to follow You in baptism and in a life of committed discipleship in Your church. Grant that I may take the necessary steps to be the one with Your people, and live in the fullness of Your Spirit in a local community of Christ followers. Amen.
