GO DEEPER TRAVEL MEETINGS: Another informational meeting to introduce the basic plans for working with Go Deeper Travels/The Calls in Southeast Asia is scheduled for TODAY, Sunday, September 23, after worship. We will meet in Room 102. Please contact Pastor Michael with any questions.
GENESIS BIBLE STUDY: GABC Men’s and Women’s Ministries are sponsoring studies of the book of Genesis. Groups began last week and go through the week of November 11th. Study information is available at gabcames.org/studies. The registration deadline was September 10th. If you missed the deadline and still want to be in a study please contact either Michael Felkins or Amanda Philgreen.
MEN’S BIBLE STUDY LOCATION CHANGE: The Tuesday morning at 7:30 AM Men’s Genesis Study location is now at 1114 National Swine Research Center on the ISU Campus.
MEMBERS MEETING: On Sunday, September 30, there will be a members meeting in the sanctuary from 4:00-5:30 pm.
GABC WOMEN: The ONE Conference on October 5th and 6th at Cornerstone Church in Ames has SOLD OUT. GABC Women who are going to the conference are also welcome to spend the night on Friday at the home of Danelle Jensen. We will have breakfast together before we return to the conference and use the additional time to build relationships and play a few late night games! Please register for the overnight and/or breakfast by September 28th at gabcames.org/women.
MEMBERSHIP CLASS: A Foundations of Membership Class is scheduled for Sunday, October 21, 2:00-5:00 pm in Room 102. This class covers our faith and practice. It is open to anyone wishing to learn more about life at GABC. Register at gabcames.org/membership or contact our church office (info@gabcames.org).
AN EVENING OF FELLOWSHIP AND HOSPITALITY: On Sunday evening, October 21, from 5:00-7:00 pm we will have a potluck supper in the Fellowship Hall. During our time together we will give emphasis to developing stronger fellowship and discipleship through hospitality in our church and small groups. I hope you will join us. Pastor Michael
IOWA MISSIONS OFFERING: We still have an opportunity to participate in the Iowa Missions Offering. Participating in the offering is a way that we can partner with the Baptist Convention of Iowa and churches across Iowa to 1) support ministries that offer God’s mercy, love, and truth to those who are hurting 2) award seminary tuition scholarships to those preparing for full-time ministry in Iowa and 3) provide funding for staff interns to help start new college ministries. If you’d like to give to the Iowa Missions Offering please make a check out to Grand Avenue Baptist Church and write Iowa Missions Offering on the memo line and either put it in the offering bag or mail it to the GABC office.
