UPCOMING ACTIVITIES
COLLEGE LUNCH: Next Sunday, September 16, is a college lunch in the fellowship hall after the worship service. The Schumacher small group will help host the lunch. College students please plan to come to the lunch and bring your friends for a time of food and fellowship.
GO DEEPER TRAVEL MEETINGS: Another informational meeting to introduce the basic plans for working with Go Deeper Travels/The Calls in Southeast Asia is scheduled for Sunday, September 23, after worship. We will meet in Room 102. Please contact Pastor Michael with any questions.
GENESIS BIBLE STUDY: GABC Men’s and Women’s Ministries invite you to gather with others once a week to study the book of Genesis. Groups will run from the week of September 16th through the week of November 11th. Study books will be provided during your first meeting time. Please prepare for your first meeting by reading through the book of Genesis.

AN EVENING OF FELLOWSHIP AND HOSPITALITY: On Sunday evening, September 30, following the Members Meeting, we will have a potluck supper in the Fellowship Hall. During our time together we will give emphasis to developing stronger fellowship and discipleship through hospitality in our church and small groups. I hope you will join us. Pastor Michael
GABC WOMEN: Join us as we partner with the ONE Conference on October 5th and 6th at Cornerstone Church in Ames for our Fall Retreat. Jen Wilkin will be the main conference speaker, and there is an amazing group of women leading workshops on Saturday. Please go to theoneconference.org for more information or to register. Use the code GABCAMES to get the group rate of $55 before September 14th. The Student rate is $25. Tickets are selling fast, and it is likely this event will sell out. GABC Women are also welcome to spend the night on Friday at the home of Danelle Jensen. We will have breakfast together before we return to the conference and use the additional time to build relationships and play a few late night games! MEMBERSHIP CLASS: A Foundations of Membership Class is scheduled for Sunday, October 21, 2:00-5:00 pm in Room 102. This class covers our faith and practice. IOWA MISSIONS OFFERING: On September 9th and 16th we have an opportunity to participate in the Iowa Missions Offering. Participating in the offering is a way that we can partner with the Baptist Convention of Iowa and churches across Iowa to 1) support ministries that offer God’s mercy, love, and truth to those who are hurting 2) award seminary tuition scholarships to those preparing for full-ministry in Iowa and 3) provide funding for staff interns to help start new college ministries. If you’d like to give to the Iowa Missions Offering please make a check out to Grand Avenue Baptist Church and write Iowa Missions Offering on the memo line and either put it in the offering bag on September 9th or 16th or mail it to the GABC office.
