Just like the foundation of your home, the spiritual foundation that is laid in the hearts of children is critical to everything that follows. The spiritual foundations we lay help to shape who they will be for the rest of their lives. The Children’s Ministry at Grand desires to raise up future generations that will speak of God’s awesome deeds and declare His greatness. We partner with parents in teaching Christ-focused and gospel-centered curriculum that emphasizes the story of redemption through Jesus as seen in both the Old and New Testaments.
One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts. On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate. They shall speak of the might of your awesome deeds, and I will declare your greatness. They shall pour forth the fame of your abundant goodness and shall sing aloud of your righteousness.
— Psalm 145:4–7

Foundations for Children
This year’s curriculum for preschool and elementary children is entitled Explore the Bible. Explore the Bible involves book by book studies from all the genres of Scripture. Each week, these passages of Scripture come to life through video, music, activities, and more. Explore the Bible will help children develop a better understanding of the Bible and establish a foundation of life in the Word.
Genres for 2017-2018 will be:
Fall Genesis, Acts, I Samuel
Winter Matthew, I and II Peter, Jude, Joshua
Spring Matthew, Judges, Ruth, Psalms
We are privileged to join with you in training your children to grow in their relationship with the Lord. Since preschool and elementary children will all be studying the same lesson each week, we hope this will promote great conversations and teaching opportunities within each family. It’s our prayer that God will be honored and glorified throughout this year.

grow252 meets Wednesdays 6:30–8:00 PM during the school year
Join us for our 2017-18 grow252 meetings. Register your children ($15 includes a t-shirt, workbook, and awards) at the first regular session on September 13th if you were not able to register at our kickoff event. Contact our office for more information.
This year we will be studying I Stand in Awe, a twenty-six week study about the importance of the Bible.
Again this year, we will have a service project emphasis. We will “Stock the Box” for the Ames Emergency Residence Project. Each month we are requesting that you bring items that we will share with the shelter to place in our box. At the end of our grow 252 year we will take the items to the shelter to distribute. Please note that the schedule lists the suggested donations for each month.
It’s our prayer that grow252 will help your children grow as Jesus grew, as stated in our theme verse from Luke 2:52: “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.”
We look forward to a year of grow252 with you and your child!
