Amanda Philgreen

Amanda is the Women’s Ministry Team Leader.

Amanda married Jonathan in 2006 and they have three children, Abi (2008), Anna (2010) and Isaiah (2012).

Amanda was born in Kansas City and moved to Ames at the age of ten. Most of the spiritual formation that happened in her youth was influenced by GABC. After living in Minneapolis and Kansas City, she returned to the Ames area in 2013. She and her family live in Huxley.

Amanda has a B.A. in Christian Education and Bible with an emphasis in Women’s Ministry from the University of Northwestern, St. Paul.

Amanda had an opportunity to serve the women of Bethlehem Baptist Church while attending college in the Twin Cities as she gained education and experience in Women’s Ministry.

After graduating from college, Amanda and Jonathan moved to Kansas City and worked for a youth parachurch organization leading a discipleship training school for college students and discipling high school students.

As their family started to grow, Amanda began to spend the majority of her day nurturing their children. During this season, she was able to be part of a community Bible Study, co-lead a small group, and assist their church in caring for and shepherding the women through intentional events.

As their children have gotten older, Amanda has been able to volunteer at their local school and disciple college students and young moms. She has also had more time to use some of the skills and experience God has given her to care for and lead the women at GABC.

Amanda loves spending time outside – running around Huxley or riding bikes with her children. She loves having a backyard full of neighbors or hanging out near water. Amanda wants to be a lifelong learner, so her side table is often full of books from a variety of genres.
