Jonathan graduated from Kansas State University with a BS in Rhetoric/Communication with minors in History and Philosophy. He also has an MA in Biblical and Pastoral Studies from Bethlehem College and Seminary.
Speaking about his experiences that have helped in his role as elder Jonathan says, “Growing up in a gospel-loving Christian home, God grew good seeds early in my life. It’s hard to underestimate how these years have influenced me. At K-State, the Navigators grew my love for one-on-one discipleship, small group ministry, and Bible Study.
“I also worked for a total of ten years in youth and college ministry in Kansas City. The unique thing about working for a para-church is that you get to partner with people who love Jesus, but come from diverse theological frameworks. I loved working with those people, and learned some pivotal lessons about humility, service, compassion, youth, social justice, the global church, missions, and change. During my pastoral apprenticeship at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis, the ideas, hopes, and loves from the previous years gained some major theological traction. I learned to love Biblical languages, and to see how a comprehensive theological framework works out practically for our joy and God’s glory. It was here that God sparked my love for the local church.”
Jonathan’s hobbies include golf, guitar, and real estate investment.
