Dean is our associate pastor who serves the church by overseeing our Foundations, youth ministry, college ministry, Gospel Life Groups, and Men’s and Women’s ministry. He says his great aim in life is to know God, to preach justification by grace through faith, and to multiply his life by equipping leaders and laborers for God’s kingdom.
Dean has been married to his wife Heather since 2017, and together they have two beautiful daughters.
Ames is home to Dean. He grew up here, went to college here, and met his wife here.
Dean has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State, a Master of Divinity from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and he is currently pursuing a PhD in Systematic Theology from Midwestern as well.
Dean came to faith his sophomore year of college and immediately was overwhelmed with a desire to know and live for the One who is The Way, and The Truth, and The Life. This merged with his innate passion to lead and teach and quickly grew into a clear sense of call to lay down his life, and his plans, to serve the Lord in the ministry. Dean’s greatest delight in ministry is to see people grow in awe for the glory of God, and peace through the grace of the Son, and holiness by power of the Spirit.
