Bless the City of Ames by Serving in “Stash the Trash 2015”

The Volunteer Center of Story County is looking for volunteers for their annual “Stash the Trash” city clean-up day.

This would be an excellent opportunity for you, your family, or your small group to be a blessing to the city of Ames, to meet neighbors and ISU students, while building relationships with church members in service.

Here’s a description of the need from their website:

Stash the Trash is a volunteer effort that brings ISU students and community members together to help clean up the Ames community and provide support to local homeowners. Volunteers can choose to work alone, with a group of people, or with an organization. This year, Stash the Trash will also partner with the Ames Repair & Care program to assist homeowners around Ames with outside yard work.

The event is scheduled to take place from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, April 18th. All volunteers will check-in at Reiman Gardens during that time where trash bags and gloves will be available. A free lunch (noon to one) and free admission to Reiman Gardens will also be offered to all volunteers.

Sign-up and more information is available here: Stash the Trash 2015
