The Functional Centrality of the Gospel in the Life of the Local Church

The Functional Centrality of the Gospel in the Life of the Local Church

Have you ever thought of how the gospel functions practically in your life?  I hope so.  If you have attended Grand very long it is usually a question you have heard asked.  Our Vision Statement says: We exist to glorify God as a gospel-centered church in Ames, Iowa. If this is our vision, then we need to be continually be talking about how the gospel is at work in our lives.

At Grand we strive to make sure that we see the gospel understood as more than how we are saved but the very means of Holy Spirit applied sanctifying grace of Jesus.  The Apostle Paul said in Rom. 1:16 that the gospel is the power of salvation. What he means is that it is the power of salvation past, present and the future.

So in light of our need to plumb the depths of the gospel, I have included in this post a message by Pastor Mike Bullmore that was recorded in 2005. I listened to it about 10 years ago and it helped me to grasp in very practical ways the greatness of our God and the power of His gospel in the life of the church.  I hope you enjoy this message.  It is a free download so feel free to put it on your phone or mp3 player and listen to it over and over again. I know I do.

Gather for the Gospel, Grow in the Gospel and Go with the Gospel,

Pastor Michael
