In partnership with the Baptist Convention of Iowa, Midwestern Seminary is hosting a For the Church Micro-conference at Cornerstone Church Ames. Speakers include Jason K. Allen, Jeff Dodge, Jared Wilson, and others. Plan to invite your friends and small group to join you. Schedule and registration available at mbts.edu/ftcames.
BCI MEETING: The annual meeting of the Baptist Convention of Iowa is Saturday, November 4th, beginning at 11:30 AM (following the For the Church Micro-conference) at Cornerstone Church Ames. All are welcome to attend the meeting. If you would like to be a messenger for GABC at the meeting contact Pastor Michael at michael@gabcames.org
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD: It’s time to fill shoeboxes full of gifts to bless boys and girls in need around the world while introducing them to Jesus Christ! Sunday, November 12th, is collection day here at GABC. Shoeboxes (constructable) and labels are available in the foyer. There are some updates and new restrictions regarding what can be packed in the shoeboxes. GABC WOMEN: Join us November 17th and 18th for a Fall Retreat. Starting at 7:00 PM on Friday the 17th, we will gather together at the home of Emily Jensen (2995 W. 190th Street, Ames, IA 50010) for an evening of games, desserts and a bonfire (weather permitting). Those who would like to spend the night together are welcome to. On Saturday, we will have breakfast together at 8:00 AM and attend a one day event hosted by 1229 Ministries and the ONE conference in partnership with Titus Two Women’s Ministry of Cornerstone Church of Ames as they welcome author, artist, and speaker Jackie Hill Perry on Saturday, November 18th from 10:00 AM— 3:00 PM. Jackie will share the Old Testament story of Hannah– her prayer and sacrifice and commitment to the ONE true God. Register by November 15th for Friday evening and/or Saturday breakfast at outrageous-unicorn.flywheelsites.com/women. Tickets for Saturday’s event are $10 and can be purchased at theoneconference.org or at the door on the day of the event for an increased cost.
