BACKYARD KIDS CLUB: Rather than a traditional summer VBS program, we are looking for a way to take the gospel message to neighborhoods in our community. We are using most of the same Bible content, music, crafts and themes as our traditional VBS but it is being taught in the backyards of homes. We encourage your children to be intentional and invite friends to attend. For more information and locations of our Backyard Kids Clubs please pick up a flyer at the Welcome Center or go online at gabcames.org/bkc for information and to register. LUNCH WITH A BUNCH INFORMATION: (This information is available online at gabcame.org/lwab/Reminders will be posted on Facebook and Twitter each week.)
What is it? An opportunity to for everyone to gather and enjoy lunch together at a different park every Wednesday from 12:00 – 1:00 during the summer months. Bring your own sack lunch and beverage and meet at the designated park. If you have children or grandchildren, bring them to play with others and enjoy the many wonderful parks in our area. Invite your friends and neighbors!

GABC WOMEN’S GATHERINGS: Please join us for an evening together on Saturday, June 22nd. We will meet at 7:15 PM at McFarland Park (6461 180th St, Ames, IA) for a prayer walk. Around 8:00 PM, we will travel to the home of Sam Young (19052 590th Ave, Nevada, IA). Our time together there will include desserts, cool drinks, and an intentional opportunity to reflect on “Gospel Good” from Galatians 6. Feel free to come for one or both parts of the evening.
We are also excited to tell you about a book discussion we will be having on July 11th at 7:30 pm at the home of Emily Jensen (2995 W. 190th St., Ames,IA). We will be reading, Surprised by Paradox: The Promise of “And” in an Either-Or World by Jen Pollock Michel. You can order it on Amazon or using other online vendors. The library also has the e version available for FREE using the hoopla app. Please read and come ready to discuss! You will find questions at the end of each section to help with discussion. If you would like to bring a dessert to the discussion, please contact Emily Jensen (bandejensen@gmail.com).
