Call To Worship
We confess the supremacy of God in Christ through both responsive reading and song.

Our Spoken Call to Worship
From Zephaniah 3:14-17

Sing for joy, Daughter Zion:
Shout loudly, Israel!
Be glad and celebrate with all your heart, Daughter Jerusalem!

The Lord has removed our punishment;
He has turned back our enemy.
The King of Israel, the Lord, is among us;
We no longer need to fear harm!

On that day it will be said to Jerusalem:
“Do not fear; Zion, do not let your hands grow weak.
The Lord your God is among you, a warrior who saves.

He will rejoice over us with gladness.
He will be quiet in His love.
He will delight in us with singing.

Come! Sing for joy and celebrate with all your heart!

Our Sung Call to Worship
Let the Nations Be Glad

Verse 1
Let the glory of the Lord forever be our joy,
May redemption be the theme of our song.
For by grace we have been saved,
And by grace we shall proclaim
To the corners of the earth that Christ has come. (Chorus)

Chorus
Let the nations be glad! Let the people rejoice,
For salvation belongs to our God.
Let the whole earth be filled with the praises of the Lord,
For salvation belongs to our God, let the nations be glad.

Verse 2
Through the ages gone before, through the trial and the sword,
Many saints and martyrs conquered, though they died.
Still we holding out the cross,
Crossing oceans suffering loss,
Shall endure all things to win the crown of life. (Chorus)

Verse 3
As Your holy church goes forth in the Holy Spirit’s power,
With the glories of the gospel to explain,
Now we pray Your kingdom come,
And we pray Your will be done,
For the honor and the glory of Your name. (Chorus)

Confession
We confess our need for mercy through both responsive reading and song.

Our Spoken Confession

Hear the words of James 4 as we examine our hearts before a holy God:

Holy Spirit, open our eyes to our sin and give us courage to see it, admit it, and turn away from it.

Where do wars and fights come from among you?
Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss that you may spend it on your pleasures.

Father, forgive us for wanting our own way and warring with our brothers to get it. We confess to asking You our own selfish desires rather than Your will to be done.

Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever, therefore, wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

We confess that we love the world and the things in the world. Forgive us for the lust of our flesh, especially when we hurt others to obtain it.

Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another?

We judge our brothers’ hearts and motives and do not believe the best of one another. We think highly of ourselves and give ourselves the benefit of the doubt, all the while murdering our brothers in our hearts. Forgive us, Lord, we pray.

Cleanse you hands, you sinners and purify hour hearts you double minded. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord and He will lift you ups.

Time of silent confession.

Our Sung Confession
There Is No Sin That I Have Done

Verse 1
There is no sin that I have done
That has such height and breadth
It can’t be washed in Jesus’ blood
Or covered by His death.
There is no spot that still remains,
No cause to hide my face,
For He has stooped to wash me clean
And covered me with grace.

Verse 2
There is no wrath that I will know,
No wormwood and no gall;
For though such wounds and grief I earned
My Savior bore them all.
There is no work that I must add
To stand before His throne.
I only plead His life and death
Sufficient on their own.

Verse 3
There is no love that I desire
But Jesus’ warm embrace.
While now I know His love by faith
I long to see His face.
There is no song that I will sing,
No melody but this,
That my Beloved, He is mine,
For He has made me His.

Assurance and Peace
We profess our assurance of salvation and peace in Christ through both responsive reading and song.
Remember the Gospel
Written by Henry Law

To redeem poor sinners like you and me, Jesus came down from Heaven, put on the rags of our mortality, agonized, bled and died.

Jesus is made His people’s substitute, burden-bearer, sin-remover and guilt-sustainer.

Our debt is placed in His account and His riches pay the full amount.
Sin is removed from us, the sinners and placed on the Sinless Christ!
Our curse is rolled on Him, and He endures it until no more remains!

God deals with Jesus as the guilty one! He, as spotless Deity, received imputed sins, and fully expiates them all. In the vicarious victim, God’s justice is satisfied, and wrath expires!

Jesus, in His life, in the garden, on the cross, suffers our sufferings, dies our death,
and so become our uttermost salvation!
His pains, our pardon!
His stripes, our healing!
His agony, our recovery!
Hallelujah! What a Savior!

Our Sung Profession of Assurance
O The Deep, Deep Love of Jesus

Verse 1
O the deep, deep love of Jesus,
Vast, unmeasured, boundless, free!
Rolling as a mighty ocean
In its fullness over me,
Underneath me, all around me,
Is the current of Thy love;
Leading onward, leading homeward,
To thy glorious rest above.

Verse 2
O the deep, deep love of Jesus,
Spread His praise from shore to shore!
How He loveth, ever loveth,
Changeth never, nevermore.
How He watches o’er His loved ones,
Died to call them all His own;
How for them He intercedeth,
Watcheth o’er them from the throne!

Verse 3
O the deep, deep love of Jesus,
Love of every love the best!
‘Tis an ocean vast of blessing,
‘Tis a haven sweet of rest.
O the deep, deep love of Jesus,
‘Tis a heaven of heavens to me;
And it lifts me up to glory,
For it lifts me up to Thee.

Thanksgiving and Petition

We Give Thanks in Prayer and Offer Petitions to God
We express our gratitude to God our Father for Christ’s work on the cross for us and bring our requests before him. In bringing our requests, we confess that we believe God truly is a good father, who cares about our needs and gives us what he knows is best.

We Give Thanks by Giving
We give financial offerings to support the work of the church because of our gratitude to God. By giving we confess we are trusting in God’s provision for us as well.
On the first Sunday of each month we have two offerings—one for the general fund and a second one for the benevolence ministry of our church.
You may give electronically at gabcames.org/giving/ or place your offering in the boxes at the back of the sanctuary or send a check in the mail.

Scripture Reading
Matthew 7:1-6
1 “Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. 3 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.
6 “Do not give dogs what is holy, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you.

This is the Word of the Lord.
Thanks be to God!

Sending
Having heard and confessed the Gospel, we are sent into the world on mission in Christ, which we express in spoken word.

Blessing
From 1 Peter 3:8, 9

Finally, all of you, be of one mind,
having compassion for one another;
love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous;
not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling,
but on the contrary blessing,
knowing that you were called to this
that you may inherit a blessing.
