Pre-Service Song
I Will Glory in My Redeemer

Verse 1
I will glory in my Redeemer,
Who priceless blood has ransomed me.
Mine was the sin that drove the bitter nails,
And hung Him on that judgment tree.
I will glory in my Redeemer,
Who crushed the power of sin and death.
My only Savior before the Holy Judge:
The Lamb Who is my righteousness,
The Lamb Who is my righteousness.

Verse 2
I will glory in my Redeemer.
My life He bought, my love He owns.
I have not longings for another,
I’m satisfied in Him alone.
I will glory in my Redeemer,
His faithfulness my standing place.
Though foes are mighty and rush upon me,
My feet are firm, held by His grace,
My feet are firm, held by His grace.

Verse 3
I will glory in my Redeemer,
Who carries me on eagle’s wings.
He crowns my life with loving kindness,
His triumph song I’ll ever sing.
I will glory in my Redeemer,
Who waits for me at gates of gold.
And when He calls me it will be paradise,
His face forever to behold.
His face forever to behold.
His face forever to behold.

Call To Worship
We confess the supremacy of God in Christ through both responsive reading and song.

Our Spoken Call to Worship
Isaiah 44:24 45:20

Lift up your hearts!

We lift them up to the Lord!

Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer,
And He who formed you from the womb:
“I am the Lord, who makes all things,
Who stretches out the heavens all alone,
Who spreads abroad the earth by Myself.”

You are the Lord and there is no other!

Assemble yourselves and come;
Draw near together.
Look to Me and be saved,
All you ends of the earth!

We look to You for You are the Lord and there is no other!
Praise the Name of the Lord!

Our Sung Call to Worship
Brethren We Have Met To Worship

Verse 1 (All)
Brethren, we have met to worship
And adore the Lord our God;
Will you pray with all your power,
While we try to preach the Word?
All is vain unless the Spirit
Of the Holy One comes down:
Brethren, pray, and holy manna
Will be showered all around.

Verse 2 (Women Only)
Brothers, see poor sinners round you
Slumb’ring on the brink of woe;
Death is coming, hell is moving,
Can you bear to let them go?
See our fathers and our mothers,
And our children sinking down;
Brothers, pray and holy manna
Will be showered all around.

Verse 3 (Men Only)
Sisters, will you join and help us?
Moses’ sister aided him;
Will you help the trembling mourners
Who are struggling hard with sin?
Tell them all about the Savior,
Tell them that He will be found;
Sisters, pray, and holy manna
Will be showered all around

Verse 4 (All)
Let us love our God supremely,
Let us love each other, too;
Let us love and pray for sinners,
Till our God makes all things new.
Then He’ll call us home to heaven,
At His table we’ll sit down;
Christ will gird Himself, and serve us
With sweet manna all around.

Confession
We confess our need for mercy through both responsive reading and song.

Our Spoken Confession
James Smith Daily Bible Readings for the Lord’s Household

Holy Father, we confess our sin has
defiled our conscience,
corrupted our imaginations,
depraved our hearts,
perverted our wills,
polluted our minds,
set our tongues on fire,
stained our lives,
and rendered us totally and eternally unfit for heaven.
We look to You for only You can save us.
You are the Lord and there is no other.

Time of silent confession.

Assurance and Peace
We profess our assurance of salvation and peace in Christ through both responsive reading and song.

Remember the Gospel
Adapted from Isaiah 45:21-25

Hear the Word of the Lord!
There is no other God besides Me,
A just God and Savior;
Look to Me, and be saved,
All you ends of the earth!
For I am God and there is no other.

The word has gone out of Your mouth in righteousness
and shall not return;
to You every knee shall bow,
and every tongue shall take an oath:
Surely in You, Lord, we have righteousness and strength,
In You we shall be justified.
You are the Lord and there is no other.

Our Sung Profession of Assurance
The Church’s One Foundation

Verse 1
The church’s one foundation
Is Jesus Christ her Lord;
She is His new creation,
By Spirit and the Word;
From heav’n He came and sought her
To be His holy bride,
With His own blood He bought her,
And for her life He died.

Verse 2
Elect from ev’ry nation,
Yet one o’er all the earth,
Her charter of salvation,
One Lord, one faith, one birth;
One holy name she blesses,
Partakes one holy food,
And to one hope she presses,
With ev’ry grace endued.

Verse 3
‘Mid toil and tribulation,
And tumult of her war,
She waits the consummation
Of peace forevermore.
Till with the vision glorious,
Her longing eyes are blest,
And the great church victorious
Shall be the church at rest.

Come Behold the Wondrous Mystery

Verse 1
Come behold the wondrous mystery,
In the dawning of the King.
He, the theme of heaven’s praises,
Robed in frail humanity.
In our longing, in our darkness,
Now the light of life has come!
Look to Christ who condescended,
Took on flesh to ransom us.

Verse 2
Come behold the wondrous mystery:
He the perfect Son of Man,
In His living, in His suffering,
Never trace nor stain of sin.
See the true and better Adam,
Come to save the hell-bound man,
Christ the great and sure fulfillment
Of the law; in Him we stand.

Verse 3
Come behold the wondrous mystery:
Christ the Lord upon the tree.
In the stead of ruined sinners
Hangs the Lamb in victory!
See the price of our redemption,
See the Father’s plan unfold,
Bringing many sons to glory:
Grace unmeasured, love untold!

Verse 4
Come behold the wondrous mystery:
Slain by death, the God of life.
But no grave could e’er restrain Him;
Praise the Lord, He is alive!
What a foretaste of deliv’rance,
How unwavering our hope.
Christ in power resurrected,
As we will be when He comes.

Ending
What a foretaste of deliv’rance,
How unwavering our hope.
Christ in power resurrected,
As we will be when he comes.

Thanksgiving and Petition

We Give Thanks in Prayer and Offer Petitions to God
We express our gratitude to God our Father for Christ’s work on the cross for us and bring our requests before him. In bringing our requests, we confess that we believe God truly is a good father, who cares about our needs and gives us what he knows is best.

We Give Thanks by Giving
We give financial offerings to support the work of the church because of our gratitude to God. By giving we confess we are trusting in God’s provision for us as well.
On the first Sunday of each month we have two offerings—one for the general fund and a second one for the benevolence ministry of our church.
You may give electronically at gabcames.org/giving/ or place your offering in the boxes at the back of the sanctuary or send a check in the mail.

Scripture Reading
Isaiah 44:24-45:25 (Only Isaiah 45:20-25 will be read.)

24 This is what the LORD, your Redeemer who formed you from the womb, says: I am the LORD, who made everything; who stretched out the heavens by myself; who alone spread out the earth; 25 who destroys the omens of the false prophets and makes fools of diviners; who confounds the wise and makes their knowledge foolishness; 26 who confirms the message of his servant and fulfills the counsel of his messengers; who says to Jerusalem, “She will be inhabited,” and to the cities of Judah, “They will be rebuilt,” and I will restore her ruins; 27 who says to the depths of the sea, “Be dry,” and I will dry up your rivers; 28 who says to Cyrus, “My shepherd, he will fulfill all my pleasure” and says to Jerusalem, “She will be rebuilt,” and of the temple, “Its foundation will be laid.”
45:1 The LORD says this to Cyrus, his anointed, whose right hand I have grasped to subdue nations before him and disarm kings, to open doors before him, and even city gates will not be shut: 2 “I will go before you and level the uneven places; I will shatter the bronze doors and cut the iron bars in two. 3 I will give you the treasures of darkness and riches from secret places, so that you may know that I am the LORD. I am the God of Israel, who calls you by your name. 4 I call you by your name, for the sake of my servant Jacob and Israel my chosen one. I give a name to you, though you do not know me.
5 I am the LORD, and there is no other; there is no God but me. I will strengthen you, though you do not know me, 6 so that all may know from the rising of the sun to its setting that there is no one but me. I am the LORD, and there is no other. 7 I form light and create darkness, I make success and create disaster; I am the LORD, who does all these things.
8 “Heavens, sprinkle from above, and let the skies shower righteousness. Let the earth open up so that salvation will sprout and righteousness will spring up with it. I, the LORD, have created it.
9 “Woe to the one who argues with his Maker— one clay pot among many. Does clay say to the one forming it, ‘What are you making?’ Or does your work say, ‘He has no hands’? 10 Woe to the one who says to his father, ‘What are you fathering?’ or to his mother, ‘What are you giving birth to?’”
11 This is what the LORD, the Holy One of Israel and its Maker, says: “Ask me what is to happen to my sons, and instruct me about the work of my hands. 12 I made the earth, and created humans on it. It was my hands that stretched out the heavens, and I commanded everything in them. 13 I have stirred him up in righteousness, and will level all roads for him. He will rebuild my city, and set my exiles free, not for a price or a bribe,” says the LORD of Armies.
14 This is what the LORD says: “The products of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush and the Sabeans, men of stature, will come over to you and will be yours; they will follow you, they will come over in chains and bow down to you. They will confess to you, ‘God is indeed with you, and there is no other; there is no other God.’” 15 Yes, you are a God who hides, God of Israel, Savior. 16 All of them are put to shame, even humiliated; the makers of idols go in humiliation together. 17 Israel will be saved by the LORD with an everlasting salvation; you will not be put to shame or humiliated for all eternity.
18 For this is what the LORD says— the Creator of the heavens, the God who formed the earth and made it, the one who established it (he did not create it to be a wasteland, but formed it to be inhabited)— he says, “I am the LORD, and there is no other.
19 I have not spoken in secret, somewhere in a land of darkness. I did not say to the descendants of Jacob: Seek me in a wasteland. I am the LORD, who speaks righteously, who declares what is right.
20 “Come, gather together, and approach, you fugitives of the nations. Those who carry their wooden idols and pray to a god who cannot save have no knowledge. 21 Speak up and present your case— yes, let them consult each other. Who predicted this long ago? Who announced it from ancient times? Was it not I, the LORD? There is no other God but me, a righteous God and Savior; there is no one except me.
22 Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth. For I am God, and there is no other. 23 By myself I have sworn; truth has gone from my mouth, a word that will not be revoked: Every knee will bow to me, every tongue will swear allegiance. 24 It will be said about me, ‘Righteousness and strength are found only in the LORD.’” All who are enraged against him will come to him and be put to shame. 25 All the descendants of Israel will be justified and boast in the LORD.

This is the word of the Lord.
The grass withers, and the flower falls,
but the word of the Lord endures forever.
