Pre-service Song
Psalm 121

I lift my eyes up to the hills,
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your feet slip,
His right hand never leaves you
He who keeps you never slumbers nor sleeps.

He watches over you,
Like a shade from the sun by day and the moon by night
He watches over you,
No evil can ever invade the covering of Yahweh.

(Repeat All)

When you go out, when you come in,
He watches over You.
Today and forevermore,
He never leaves You. (Repeat)

He watches over you,
Like a shade from the sun by day and the moon by night
He watches over you,
No evil can ever invade the covering of Yahweh.

Call To Worship
We confess the supremacy of God in Christ through both responsive reading and song.

Our Spoken Call to Worship
Revelation 5:9-13 (ESV)

Come, let us worship the Lord Jesus Christ!

Worthy are you to take the scroll
and to open its seals,
for you were slain,
and by your blood you ransomed people for God
from every tribe and language
and people and nation,
and you have made them a kingdom
and priests to our God,
and they shall reign on the earth.

Worthy is the Lamb who was slain,
to receive power and wealth
and wisdom and might
and honor and glory and blessing!

To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be blessing and honor and glory and might
forever and ever!

Our Sung Call to Worship
Holy (1 Samuel 2:2)

There is none holy like the Lord;
There is none beside You.
There is no fortress like our God,
Who was and is and is to come.
The beginning and the end,
Son of God, son of man.
There is no one like You Lord, so holy.

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord.
All glory, glory, glory to the Lord Almighty.
So worthy, we give you all the praise
Oh, lamb of God, You’re holy.

There is none holy like the Lord;

Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty.
Worthy, worthy, worthy, Of all the praise and glory.

Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty.
Worthy, worthy, worthy, Of all the praise and glory.

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord.
All glory, glory, glory to the Lord Almighty.
So worthy, we give you all the praise
Oh, lamb of God, You’re holy. (Repeat)

Oh, lamb of God, You’re holy.

Confession
We confess our need for mercy through both responsive reading and song.

Our Spoken Confession
Romans 7:18-25 (ESV)

For I know that nothing good dwells in me,
that is, in my flesh.
For I have the desire to do what is right,
but not the ability to carry it out.

For I do not do the good I want,
but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing.
Now if I do what I do not want,
it is no longer I who do it,
but sin that dwells within me.

So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right,
evil lies close at hand.
For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being,
but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members.

Wretched man that I am!
Who can deliver me from this body of death?
Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!
So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.

Time of silent confession.

Our Sung Confession
Thanks Be to God

I want to do good, but I can’t stay right.
The wrong in me came out tonight.
Waging war against the law of my mind.
I’m a wretched man in a losing fight.

Thanks be to God who delivers me.
Thanks be to God who delivers me.
Christ, Christ alone come and set me free.
Thanks be to God who delivers me.

I love the truth, I’ve seen the light.
But the shadow inside is still alive.
I am the battle field, I am the fight.
Who will heal me from these wounds I hide?

Thanks be to God who delivers me.
Thanks be to God who delivers me.
Christ, Christ alone come and set me free.
Thanks be to God who delivers me.

Thanks be to God who delivers me.
Thanks be to God who delivers me.
Christ, Christ alone come and set me free.
Thanks be to God who delivers me.

Assurance and Peace
We profess our assurance of salvation and peace in Christ through both responsive reading and song.

Remember the Gospel
Romans 5:1, 8-11 (ESV)

Remember the Gospel!

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith,
we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

God shows his love for us
in that while we were still sinners,
Christ died for us.

Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood,
much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.

For if while we were enemies
we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son,
much more, now that we are reconciled,
shall we be saved by his life.

More than that, we also rejoice in God
through our Lord Jesus Christ,
through whom we have now received reconciliation.

Our Sung Profession of Assurance
Compassion Hymn (There is An Everlasting Kindness)

There is an everlasting kindness
You lavished on us,
When the radiance of heaven
Came to rescue the lost.
You called the sheep without a shepherd
To leave their distress
For Your streams of forgiveness
And the shade of Your rest.

And with compassion for the hurting
You reached out your hand
As the lame ran to meet You
And the dead breathed again.
You saw behind the eyes of sorrow
And shared in our tears;
Heard the sigh of the weary,
Let the children draw near.

Chorus
What boundless love, what fathomless grace
You have shown us, O God of compassion.
Each day we live an offering of praise,
As we show to the world Your compassion.

We stood beneath the cross of Calv’ry
And gazed on Your face
At the thorns of oppression
And the wounds of disgrace;
For surely You have borne our suff’ring
And carried our grief,
As You pardoned the scoffer
And showed grace to the thief. (Chorus)

How beautiful the feet that carry
This gospel of peace
To the fields of injustice
And the valleys of need.
To be a voice of hope and healing,
To answer the cries
Of the hungry and helpless
With the mercy of Christ. (Chorus)

Thanksgiving and Petition

We Give Thanks in Prayer and Offer Petitions to God
We express our gratitude to God our Father for Christ’s work on the cross for us and bring our requests before him. In bringing our requests, we confess that we believe God truly is a good father, who cares about our needs and gives us what he knows is best.

We Give Thanks by Giving
We give financial offerings to support the work of the church because of our gratitude to God. By giving we confess we are trusting in God’s provision for us as well.

You may give electronically at gabcames.org/giving/ or place your offering in the boxes at the back of the sanctuary or send a check in the mail.

Scripture Reading
Matthew 26:30-35 (ESV)

30 And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives. 31 Then Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away because of me this night. For it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’ 32 But after I am raised up, I will go before you to Galilee.” 33 Peter answered him, “Though they all fall away because of you, I will never fall away.” 34 Jesus said to him, “Truly, I tell you, this very night, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” 35 Peter said to him, “Even if I must die with you, I will not deny you!” And all the disciples said the same.

This is the word of the Lord.
The grass withers and the flower falls
but the word of the Lord endures forever.

Sermon

Sending
Having heard and confessed the Gospel, we are sent into the world on mission in Christ, which we express in both song and spoken word.

Sending Song
I Surrender All

All to Jesus I surrender,
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.

Chorus
I surrender all,
I surrender all;
All to Thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender,
Humbly at His feet I bow;
Worldly pleasures all forsaken,
Take me, Jesus, take me now. (Chorus)

All to Jesus I surrender,
Make me, Savior, wholly thine;
Let me feel Thy Holy Spirit,
Truly know that Thou art mine. (Chorus)

All to Jesus I surrender,
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power,
Let thy blessing fall on me. (Chorus)

Blessing
Jude 1:24-25 (ESV)

Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling
and to present you blameless
before the presence of his glory with great joy,
to the only God, our Savior,
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority,
before all time and now and forever.

Amen.
