This is not small issue before our court. If same sex marriage is defined as a fundamental right because people are born that way and cannot do anything about it, then it opens a whole new can of worms. All of the sudden any aberrant behavior can fall into this category and become a fundamental right. This is a slippery slope indeed. There will be further implications for our churches as these kinds of legal proceedings begin to leech themselves deeper into our society.
