Call To Worship
We confess the supremacy of God in Christ through both responsive reading and song.
Our Spoken Call to Worship
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible,
whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities —
all things were created through him and for him.
And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
And he is the head of the body, the church.
He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead,
that in everything he might be preeminent.
Our Sung Call to Worship
Behold Our God
Crown Him with Many Crowns [lyrics may vary from video]
Confession
We confess our need for mercy through both responsive reading and song.
Our Spoken Confession
We confess our sin and need for grace in the words of the tax collector who, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying,
“God, be merciful to me, a sinner!”
Our Sung Confession
Not in Me
Assurance and Peace
We confess our assurance of salvation and peace in Christ through both responsive reading and song.
Our Spoken Confession of Assurance
He has delivered us from the domain of darkness
and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son
in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Our Sung Confession of Assurance
Complete in Thee
Thanksgiving and Petition
Prayer
We express our gratitude to God our Father for Christ’s work on the cross for us and bring our requests before him. In bringing our requests, we confess that we believe God truly is a good father, who cares about our needs and gives us what he knows is best.
Giving
We give financial offerings to support the work of the church because of our gratitude to God. By giving we confess we are trusting in God’s provision for us as well.
Scripture Reading
We hear the scripture text of the sermon read.
Sermon
Chris McCrae, Discipleship Team Leader for the Baptist Convention of Iowa, will bring a message from the Bible.
An Unrivaled Symphony (Hebrews 11:17-40)
Sending
Having heard and confessed the Gospel, we are sent into the world on mission in Christ, which we express in both song and spoken word.
