WEEK OF PRAYER FOR NORTH AMERICAN MISSIONS & THE ANNIE ARMSTRONG EASTER OFFERING: March 26-April 1 marks the Week of Prayer for North American Missions and the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering (AAEO). 100% of gifts to the AAEO support North American Mission Board missionaries working in the US, Canada, and their territories through the Southern Baptist Convention. Prayer guides are available in the Welcome Center. To give to the AAEO, write your check to Grand Avenue Baptist Church with “Annie Armstrong” in the memo line. To learn more about the offering and how to pray for NAMB missionaries, please visit anniearmstrong.com.
COLLEGE LUNCH: College lunch, April 2nd. Men, meet at the Martens (51552 180th Street) for meat. Ladies, light, lovely luncheon (aka tea party) at the Sulc’s (1210 Marston Ave), directly following the service.
GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE: We will be having a Good Friday Service on April 14 at 6:30 pm in the sanctuary. This year we will have a Tenebrae Service which is also known as A Service of Shadows. It is historical service that churches have held for hundreds of years where the congregation gathers to remember our Savior’s passion on Good Friday. The service consists of reading Scripture to help us remember Christ’s suffering on the way to the cross, His crucifixion and burial. We will respond to each reading in song, a reading or an instrumental to help us focus on the text. I encourage you to bring your children to the service as there will be no childcare provided. I hope the service is formative for our little ones and our families as we reflect together on our Savior’s passion on Good Friday. Pastor Michael
