Call To Worship
We confess the supremacy of God in Christ through both responsive reading and song.

Our Spoken Call to Worship
From Psalm 95:1-3

Oh come, let us sing to the LORD;

Let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!

Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;

Let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise.

For the LORD is a great God,

And a great King above all gods.

Confession
We confess our need for mercy through both responsive reading and song.

Our Spoken Confession
Based on Psalm 95:1-3 and Psalm 119:1-8

Oh God, we hear the call to sing to You with joy

And yet our hearts sing with apathy and cynicism.

We hear that blessed people are:
Those that keep your testimonies
Those who seek you with their whole heart
Those who do no wrong
Those who walk in your ways

And yet, we sin against you
Our words have been careless, deceitful, and conniving.
Our thoughts have been lustful, hateful, and selfish.
Our deeds have been disloyal, unkind, and unhelpful.

O God, Your Word highlights our unrighteousness.

Forgive us!

Assurance and Peace
We profess our assurance of salvation and peace in Christ through both responsive reading and song.
Remember the Gospel
Based on Galatians 3:10-11 and
2 Corinthians 5:21

Hear the good news!

All who rely on works of the law are under a curse;
For it is written, ‘Cursed be everyone who does not abide by the things written in the Book of the Law and do them.’ Now it is evident that no one is
justified before God by the Law.

Though we are thoroughly unrighteous and rebellious, for our sake, God made Him to be sin who knew no sin,

So that in Him (Christ), we might become the righteousness of God.

In Christ we are reconciled, redeemed, and renewed.

Thanks be to God!

Thanksgiving and Petition

We Give Thanks in Prayer and Offer Petitions to God
We express our gratitude to God our Father for Christ’s work on the cross for us and bring our requests before him. In bringing our requests, we confess that we believe God truly is a good father, who cares about our needs and gives us what he knows is best.

We Give Thanks by Giving
We give financial offerings to support the work of the church because of our gratitude to God. By giving we confess we are trusting in God’s provision for us as well.
On the first Sunday of each month we have two offerings—one for the general fund and a second one for the benevolence ministry of our church.

Scripture Reading
Psalm 119:1-8 (ESV)

1 Blessed are those whose way is blameless,
who walk in the law of the LORD!
2 Blessed are those who keep his testimonies,
who seek him with their whole heart,
3 who also do no wrong,
but walk in his ways!
4 You have commanded your precepts
to be kept diligently.
5 Oh that my ways may be steadfast
in keeping your statutes!
6 Then I shall not be put to shame,
having my eyes fixed on all your commandments.
7 I will praise you with an upright heart,
when I learn your righteous rules.
8 I will keep your statutes;
do not utterly forsake me!

This is the word of the Lord,
a lamp for our feet and a light on our path.

God be in your head and in your understanding.
God be in your eyes and in your looking.
God be in your mouth and in your speaking.
God be in your heart and in your thinking.
God be at your end and at your departing.
