Call To Worship
We confess the supremacy of God in Christ through both responsive reading and song.

Our Spoken Call to Worship
Adapted from Psalms 105:1-5

Oh, Lord, we grieve that we are not together in person.
But your Spirit dwells within us and makes us one!
How wonderful to lift up our voices, together as one, in praise to the living God !

We give thanks to the Lord and call on His name;
Let us proclaim His deeds among the peoples.
Sing to Him, sing praise to Him;
tell about all His wondrous deeds!

Boast in His holy name;
let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.

We seek the Lord and His strength;
We seek His face always
And we remember the wondrous works He has done,
His wonders, and the judgments He has pronounced.

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord!

Confession
We confess our need for mercy through both responsive reading and song.

Our Spoken Confession

Father, we confess to having hearts and minds set on this world;

Its comforts draw us.
Its treasures excite us.
Its momentary pleasures satisfy us for a time.

But You call us to turn away from lesser things to what is incorruptible,
to what is undefiled and that does not fade away.

Forgive us, O God

For we find satisfaction in so little and forget the eternal treasures which You are keeping for us.

Forgive us, O God

For we show so little regard for Your abundant mercies and the living hope that we have in Jesus Christ.

Forgive us, O God. Have mercy on us according to Your steadfast love and great compassion.

Our Sung Confession
I Will Wait for You

Assurance and Peace
We profess our assurance of salvation and peace in Christ through both responsive reading and song.

Remember the Gospel
Adapted from Charles Spurgeon; 2 Corinthians 4:18, 1 Peter 1:4,5

Let us fix our eyes not on what is seen—but on what is unseen.
For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal!

Forward lies the crown—and onward is the goal,
for hope, for joy, for consolation,
and for the inspiring of our love.
The future must be the grand object of the eyes of our faith!

Looking into what lies ahead we see:
Our sins cast out,
These bodies of death and decay destroyed,
Our souls made perfect;
hailed as more than conquerors,
crowned by the hand of Christ,
embraced in the arms of Jesus,
glorified with Him,
And made to sit together with Him on His throne!

All these, brothers and sisters, are reserved in heaven for you,
who are kept by the power of God through faith
for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Thanks be to God!

Thanksgiving and Petition

We Give Thanks in Prayer and Offer Petitions to God
We express our gratitude to God our Father for Christ’s work on the cross for us and bring our requests before him. In bringing our requests, we confess that we believe God truly is a good father, who cares about our needs and gives us what he knows is best.

Elder Prayer

We Give Thanks by Giving
We give financial offerings to support the work of the church because of our gratitude to God. By giving we confess we are trusting in God’s provision for us as well.
On the first Sunday of each month we have two offerings—one for the general fund and a second one for the benevolence ministry of our church.

Scripture Reading

1 Peter 1:3-5 (ESV)
1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ,To those who are elect exiles of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, 2 according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood:

May grace and peace be multiplied to you.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, 5 who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Benediction
From the letters of John Berridge

May God’s presence be ever with you to animate and protect you, and His love to refresh you. May His own dear self be the growing love and joy of your heart, your strength and confidence, a sweet present portion and your everlasting all.
