Call To Worship
We confess the supremacy of God in Christ through both responsive reading and song.

Our Spoken Call to Worship
From Psalm 95:6; adapted from J. Frame’s Systematic Theology

O come let us worship and bow down;
Let us kneel before the Lord, our maker!

For God is our Lord, the Author and Executor
of His divine covenant.

And we are His servants, humbled and bowed down.

God is our King and the Architect of all redemptive history.

We are his subjects, ready and eager to do His will.

God is also our Father, intimately acquainted with each of His children.

We are His family,
His beloved sons and cherished daughters.

O come let us worship and bow down;
Let us kneel before the Lord, our maker!

Our Sung Call to Worship
Be Unto Your Name

Verse 1
We are a moment, You are forever,
Lord of the ages, God before time.
We are a vapor, You are eternal,
Love everlasting, reigning on high. (Chorus)

Chorus
Holy, holy, Lord God Almighty,
Worthy is the Lamb Who was slain.
Highest praises, honor and glory,
Be unto Your name
Be unto Your name.

Verse 2
We are the broken, You are the healer,
Jesus, Redeemer, mighty to save.
You are the love song we’ll sing forever,
Bowing before You, blessing Your name. (Chorus)

(Chorus)

Confession
We confess our need for mercy through both responsive reading and song.

Our Spoken Confession

Almighty and most merciful Father;

We have erred and strayed from Your ways like lost sheep.

We have followed too much the devices an
desires of our own hearts.

We have sinned against Your holy laws by what we have done and left undone.

There is no health in us and we confess these great offenses.

Have mercy on us, Lord.

Meet us here, in Your sanctuary, and cleanse us from our sin.

Time of silent confession.

Our Sung Confession
All I Have is Christ

Verse 1
I once was lost in darkest night,
Yet thought I knew the way.
The sin that promised joy and life
Had led me to the grave.
I had no hope that You would own
A rebel to Your will.
And if You had not loved me first
I would refuse You still.

Verse 2
But as I ran my hell-bound race,
Indifferent to the cost.
You looked upon my helpless state
And led me to the cross.
And I beheld God’s love displayed,
You suffered in my place.
You bore the wrath reserved for me,
Now all I know is grace. (Chorus)

Chorus
Hallelujah! All I have is Christ.
Hallelujah! Jesus is my life.

Verse 3
Now Lord I would be Yours alone,
And live so all might see.
The strength to follow Your commands
Could never come from me.
O Father, use my ransomed life
In any way You choose,
And let my song forever be
My only boast is You. (Chorus 2 X’s)

Assurance and Peace
We profess our assurance of salvation and peace in Christ through both responsive reading and song.
Remember the Gospel
From 1 Peter 3:18

Remember this, Church; Christ has died for sins, once for all, the Just for the unjust that He might bring us to God; having been put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit.

Father, we thank you for the mercy You give us in Christ. Because of Your grace we boldly approach Your throne with singing.

Cleanse our consciences that Your word might take root in our hearts. Receive us in Jesus’ name and make us like Him for Your glory and honor.

Our Sung Profession of Assurance
I Will Glory in My Redeemer

Verse 1
I will glory in my Redeemer,
Who priceless blood has ransomed me.
Mine was the sin that drove the bitter nails,
And hung Him on that judgment tree.
I will glory in my Redeemer,
Who crushed the power of sin and death.
My only Savior before the Holy Judge:
The Lamb Who is my righteousness,
The Lamb Who is my righteousness.

Verse 2
I will glory in my Redeemer.
My life He bought, my love He owns.
I have not longings for another,
I’m satisfied in Him alone.
I will glory in my Redeemer,
His faithfulness my standing place.
Though foes are mighty and rush upon me,
My feet are firm, held by His grace,
My feet are firm, held by His grace.

Verse 3
I will glory in my Redeemer,
Who carries me on eagle’s wings.
He crowns my life with loving kindness,
His triumph song I’ll ever sing.
I will glory in my Redeemer,
Who waits for me at gates of gold.
And when He calls me it will be paradise,
His face forever to behold
His face forever to behold.

Thanksgiving and Petition

We Give Thanks in Prayer and Offer Petitions to God
We express our gratitude to God our Father for Christ’s work on the cross for us and bring our requests before him. In bringing our requests, we confess that we believe God truly is a good father, who cares about our needs and gives us what he knows is best.

We Give Thanks by Giving
We give financial offerings to support the work of the church because of our gratitude to God. By giving we confess we are trusting in God’s provision for us as well.
On the first Sunday of each month we have two offerings—one for the general fund and a second one for the benevolence ministry of our church.

Scripture Reading
2 Peter 1:1-4 (ESV)
1 Simeon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ,
To those who have obtained a faith of equal standing with ours by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:
2 May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
3 His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, 4 by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.

This is the Word of the Lord.
Thanks be to God!

Sermon
2 Peter 1:3-4 – Our Divine Provision – Pastor Michael Felkins

Sending
Having heard and confessed the Gospel, we are sent into the world on mission in Christ, which we express in both song and spoken word.

Blessing
As you are sent into the world this week,
may the exceedingly great and precious
promises you have been given by God
be every at the forefront of your mind.
May they remind you that you have been given a divine nature that enables you to turn away
from the corruption and lust of this world and walk as children of light.

Go in grace and peace.
