Reflection
Fear not–Jesus is for you!
Do not be anxious–He is your God!
He will strengthen you.
He will help you.
He will uphold you with His righteous right hand.

Isaiah 41:10 [amplified]

Call To Worship
We confess the supremacy of God in Christ through both responsive reading and song.

Our Spoken Call to Worship
From Psalm 95:1–5, 7 (ESV)

Oh come, let us sing to the LORD;
let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
For the LORD is a great God,
and a great King above all gods.

For he is our God,
and we are the people of his pasture,
and the sheep of his hand.

Our Sung Call to Worship
Behold Our God

Verse 1
Who has held the oceans in His hands?
Who has numbered every grain of sand?
Kings and nations tremble at His voice.
All creation rises to rejoice.

Verse 2
Who has given counsel to the Lord?
Who can question any of His words?
Who can teach the One who knows all things?
Who can fathom all His wondrous deeds? (Chorus)

Chorus
Behold our God, seated on His throne.
Come, let us adore Him.
Behold our King, nothing can compare,
Come, let us adore Him!

Verse 3
Who has felt the nails upon His hands,
Bearing all the guilt of sinful man?
God eternal, humbled to the grave,
Jesus, Savior, risen now to reign! (Chorus)

Bridge
You will reign forever. (Let your glory fill the earth.)
You will reign forever. (Let your glory fill the earth.)
You will reign forever. (Let your glory fill the earth.)
You will reign forever. (Chorus)

Confession
We confess our need for mercy through both responsive reading and song.

Our Spoken Confession

Gracious Father,

This morning, our mouths confess your greatness.

This past week, those same mouths spoke words
to wound people made in your likeness,
to twist the truth and deceive our neighbor,
to insult, boast, gossip, and slander.

By the mercies of Christ, forgive us—
and may the words of our mouths
be acceptable to you, O Lord!

Amen.

Time of silent confession.

Assurance and Peace
We profess our assurance of salvation and peace in Christ through both responsive reading and song.

Remember the Gospel & The Lord’s Supper
From Romans 10:8-10; Psalms 32:5; Colossians 1:13-14 (CSB)

This is the message of faith that we proclaim:

If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,”
and believe in your heart that God
raised him from the dead,
you will be saved.

I acknowledged my sin to you
and did not conceal my iniquity.
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,”
and you forgave the guilt of my sin.

The Father has rescued us from the domain of darkness
and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son he loves.
In him we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Distribution of the elements. Singing “I Am One of Those”

I Am One of Those

Verse 1
I am one of those, at the table not invited,
And to all here at the feast it’s very plain,
I cannot hide in etiquette or conversation,
But Christ himself sent word to me and so I came.

Verse 2
I am one of those who was dead and fully buried,
And I still bear every stigma of decay,
There is no way I can cover what I’ve been through,
‘cause when Jesus called I came out of the grave. (Chorus)

Chorus
Though the world may number me among the foolish,
I think Jesus Christ is all I need to know
Jesus suffered and paid blood to buy the lowest of the low
Hallelujah! Amen! That’s me! I am one of those!

Verse 3
I am one of those, who was a leper and contagious,
The deformities and scars I have today,
Yet while I was vile with sickness Jesus loved me,
And He healed, restored and through and through remade.

Verse 4
I am one of those who was doomed to death in prison,
And I’ve done more evil things than I could say,
But Jesus broke inside and there unlocked my shackles,
And to set me free, he died and took my place. (Chorus)

Verse 5
I am one of those, who was hard to love and ugly,
Self-righteous, critical; religion was my stain.
Then I came to Christ to wash and be discovered,
Jesus came to me and covered up my shame. (Chorus)

Celebration of the Lord’s Supper

King of Kings

Verse 1
In the darkness we were waiting
Without hope, without light,
Till from heaven You came running,
There was mercy in Your eyes.

To fulfill the law and prophets,
To a virgin came the Word,
From a throne of endless glory,
To a cradle in the dirt. (Chorus)

Chorus
Praise the Father,
Praise the Son,
Praise the Spirit, three in one.
God of Glory, Majesty,
Praise forever to the King of Kings

Verse 2
To reveal the kingdom coming
And to reconcile the lost,
To redeem the whole creation,
You did not despise the cross.

For even in Your suffering,
You saw to the other side.
Knowing this was our salvation,
Jesus, for our sake You died. (Chorus)

Verse 3
And the morning that You rose,
All of heaven held its breath,
Till that stone was moved for good,
For the Lamb had conquered death.

And the dead rose from their tombs,
And the angels stood in awe,
For the souls of all who’d come,
To the Father are restored.

Verse 4
And the Church of Christ was born,
Then the Spirit lit the flame.
Now this Gospel truth of old,
Shall not kneel, shall not faint.

By his blood and in His name,
In His freedom I am free
For the love of Jesus Christ,
Who has resurrected me. (Chorus 2X’s)

Ending
Praise forever to the King of Kings.

Christ is All

Verse 1
I’ve found a treasure that can’t be taken;
Found a well that won’t run dry.
O worldly pleasure, be now forsaken;
Behold what love, what life is mine.

Verse 2
Could endless striving now make me righteous?
Could all my works now grant me hope?
Oh, hallelujah! The blood of Jesus—
my only plea, my only boast. (Chorus)

Chorus
Christ is all, Christ is all;
And my song will ever be.
Christ is all, all in all;
And my song will ever be: Christ is all.

Verse 3
And in the trial, when storms are raging;
Though tears may fall, my soul will rise.
For there’s a peace that is mine unchanging;
There is a joy that never dies. (Chorus)

Verse 4
When life is passing and strength is fading,
I’ll see the One that I adore.
Let this world vanish, oh give me Jesus;
My great desire, my true reward. (Chorus)

Thanksgiving and Petition

We Give Thanks in Prayer and Offer Petitions to God
We express our gratitude to God our Father for Christ’s work on the cross for us and bring our requests before him. In bringing our requests, we confess that we believe God truly is a good father, who cares about our needs and gives us what he knows is best.

We Give Thanks by Giving
We give financial offerings to support the work of the church because of our gratitude to God. By giving we confess we are trusting in God’s provision for us as well.
On the first Sunday of each month we have two offerings—one for the general fund and a second one for the benevolence ministry of our church.
You may give electronically at gabcames.org/giving/ or place your offering in the boxes at the back of the sanctuary or send a check in the mail.

Scripture Reading
Acts 18:1-17 (ESV)
1After this Paul left Athens and went to Corinth. 2 And he found a Jew named Aquila, a native of Pontus, recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had commanded all the Jews to leave Rome. And he went to see them, 3 and because he was of the same trade he stayed with them and worked, for they were tentmakers by trade. 4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and tried to persuade Jews and Greeks. 5 When Silas and Timothy arrived from Macedonia, Paul was occupied with the word, testifying to the Jews that the Christ was Jesus. 6 And when they opposed and reviled him, he shook out his garments and said to them, “Your blood be on your own heads! I am innocent. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.” 7 And he left there and went to the house of a man named Titius Justus, a worshiper of God. His house was next door to the synagogue. 8 Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord, together with his entire household. And many of the Corinthians hearing Paul believed and were baptized. 9 And the Lord said to Paul one night in a vision, “Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent, 10 for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many in this city who are my people.” 11 And he stayed a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.
12 But when Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews made a united attack on Paul and brought him before the tribunal, 13 saying, “This man is persuading people to worship God contrary to the law.” 14 But when Paul was about to open his mouth, Gallio said to the Jews, “If it were a matter of wrongdoing or vicious crime, O Jews, I would have reason to accept your complaint. 15 But since it is a matter of questions about words and names and your own law, see to it yourselves. I refuse to be a judge of these things.” 16 And he drove them from the tribunal. 17 And they all seized Sosthenes, the ruler of the synagogue, and beat him in front of the tribunal. But Gallio paid no attention to any of this.

This is the word of the Lord.
The grass withers, and the flower falls,
but the word of the Lord endures forever.
