Reflection
The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.

Romans 16:20

Call To Worship
We confess the supremacy of God in Christ through both responsive reading and song.

Our Spoken Call to Worship
Adapted from Psalms 102

Hear this word, anointed of the Lord!
Our Lord endures forever!
His name be remembered throughout all generations!
All the nations will fear Him and bow before His glory.

He looks down from the height of His sanctuary;
from heaven the Lord views the earth.
He hears the groaning of the prisoner
and releases those appointed to death.
He creates a people that will praise the name of the Lord,
in whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

We, the created, praise the Creator.
We, the redeemed, celebrate the Redeemer
We, your people, declare your name to all the world
and your words to the end of the world.
We, the gathered, come to praise the name of our Lord!

Our Sung Call to Worship
Crown Him With Many Crowns

Verse 1
Crown Him with many crowns,
The Lamb upon His throne;
Hark! How the heav’nly anthem drowns
All music but its own:
Awake, my soul, and sing
Of Him who died for thee,
And hail Him as thy matchless King
Through all eternity.

Verse 2
Crown Him the Lord of love;
Behold His hands and side,
Rich wounds, yet visible above,
In beauty glorified.
No angel in the sky
Can fully bear that sight
But downward bends his burning eye
At mysteries so bright.

Verse 3
Crown Him the Lord of life,
Who triumphed o’er the grave,
And rose victorious in the strife
For those He came to save;
His glories now we sing
Who died, and rose on high,
Who died eternal life to bring
And lives that death may die.

Verse 4
Crown Him the Lord of lords,
The Sovereign Lord of time,
Creator of the earth and heav’n,
Yet I can call Him mine!
All hail, Redeemer, hail!
For Thou hast died for me:
Thy praise and glory shall not fail
Throughout eternity!

Confession
We confess our need for mercy through both responsive reading and song.

Our Spoken Confession
Dear Lord,

The more we grow in grace,
the more we see the sin that remains.

The more we grow in humility,
the more we know and grieve our pride.

We confess our pride,
which elevates us to be our own gods.

The more we grow in patience,
the more we know and grieve our impatience.

We confess our irritation with those
you’ve given us to love and walk with.

The more we grow in knowing your forgiveness,
the more we know and grieve our unforgiving hearts.

We confess our refusal to forgive one another as you have forgiven us.

The more we grow in faith,
the more we know and grieve our unbelief.

We confess our doubts that you love us
and always work for our good.

The more we grow in conformity to Christ,
the more we know and grieve our disobedience.

We confess our disdain for the discipline you administer to your children.

The more we grow in self-denial,
the more we know and grieve our selfishness.

We confess our demanding hearts,
which love ourselves above all else.

The more we see the extent of our sin,
the more we know and rejoice that salvation
is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.

All glory is yours alone, O Lord,
for you alone have saved us!

Time of silent confession.

Our Sung Confession
I Am One of Those

Verse 1
I am one of those, at the table not invited,
And to all here at the feast it’s very plain,
I cannot hide in etiquette or conversation,
But Christ himself sent word to me and so I came.

Verse 2
I am one of those who was dead and fully buried,
And I still bear every stigma of decay,
There is no way I can cover what I’ve been through,
‘cause when Jesus called I came out of the grave. (Chorus)

Chorus
Though the world may number me among the foolish,
I think Jesus Christ is all I need to know
Jesus suffered and paid blood to buy the lowest of the low
Hallelujah! Amen! That’s me! I am one of those!

Verse 3
I am one of those, who was a leper and contagious,
The deformities and scars I have today,
Yet while I was vile with sickness Jesus loved me,
And He healed, restored and through and through remade.

Verse 4
I am one of those who was doomed to death in prison,
And I’ve done more evil things than I could say,
But Jesus broke inside and there unlocked my shackles,
And to set me free, he died and took my place. (Chorus)

Verse 5
I am one of those, who was hard to love and ugly,
Self-righteous, critical; religion was my stain.
Then I came to Christ to wash and be discovered,
Jesus came to me and covered up my shame. (Chorus)

Assurance and Peace
We profess our assurance of salvation and peace in Christ through both responsive reading and song.

Remember the Gospel
Adapted from New Morning Mercies by Paul David Tripp; March 27 devotion

Those who have put their faith and trust in the Lord Jesus,
can now get up and face life with courage
because, as God’s children, we have not been left
to the limits of our own strength and wisdom.

We can say with Paul,

I have been crucified with Christ
and it is no longer I who live,
but Christ who lives in me.
The life I now live in the flesh
I live by the faith in the Son of God,
who loved me and gave Himself for me.

Our Sung Profession of Assurance
Come Behold the Wondrous Mystery

Verse 1
Come behold the wondrous mystery,
In the dawning of the King.
He, the theme of heaven’s praises,
Robed in frail humanity.
In our longing, in our darkness,
Now the light of life has come!
Look to Christ who condescended,
Took on flesh to ransom us.

Verse 2
Come behold the wondrous mystery:
He the perfect Son of Man,
In His living, in His suffering,
Never trace nor stain of sin.
See the true and better Adam,
Come to save the hell-bound man,
Christ the great and sure fulfillment
Of the law; in Him we stand.

Verse 3
Come behold the wondrous mystery:
Christ the Lord upon the tree.
In the stead of ruined sinners
Hangs the Lamb in victory!
See the price of our redemption,
See the Father’s plan unfold,
Bringing many sons to glory:
Grace unmeasured, love untold!

Verse 4
Come behold the wondrous mystery:
Slain by death, the God of life.
But no grave could e’er restrain Him;
Praise the Lord, He is alive!
What a foretaste of deliv’rance,
How unwavering our hope.
Christ in power resurrected,
As we will be when He comes.

Ending
What a foretaste of deliv’rance,
How unwavering our hope.
Christ in power resurrected,
As we will be when he comes.

Thank You, Jesus, For the Blood

Verse 1
I was a wretch; I remember who I was.
I was lost, I was blind, I was running out of time.
Sin separated, the breach was far too wide,
But from the far side of the chasm,
You had me in your sight.

Verse 2
So you made a way across the great divide,
Left behind heaven’s throne to build it here inside.
There at the cross, You paid the debt I owed.
Broke my chains, freed my soul,
For the first time, I had hope. (Chorus)

Chorus
Thank You, Jesus, for the blood applied.
Thank You, Jesus, it has washed me white.
Thank You, Jesus, You have saved my life,
Brought me from the darkness into glorious light.

Verse 3
You took my place, laid inside my tomb of sin.
You were buried for three days, but then You walked right out again.
And now death has no sting, and life has no end.
For I have been transformed by the blood of the Lamb. (Chorus)

Bridge
There is nothing stronger, than
the wonder working power of the blood, the blood
that calls us sons and daughters.
We are ransomed by our Father through the blood, the blood. (Chorus)

Ending
Glory to His name,
Glory to His name!
There to my heart was the blood applied;
Glory to His name.

Thanksgiving and Petition

We Give Thanks in Prayer and Offer Petitions to God
We express our gratitude to God our Father for Christ’s work on the cross for us and bring our requests before him. In bringing our requests, we confess that we believe God truly is a good father, who cares about our needs and gives us what he knows is best.

We Give Thanks by Giving
We give financial offerings to support the work of the church because of our gratitude to God. By giving we confess we are trusting in God’s provision for us as well.
You may give electronically at gabcames.org/giving/ or place your offering in the boxes at the back of the sanctuary or send a check in the mail.

Scripture Reading
Isaiah 13:6-13 (CSB)
6 Wail! For the day of the LORD is near.
It will come as destruction from the Almighty.
7 Therefore everyone’s hands will become weak,
and every man will lose heart.
8 They will be horrified;
pain and agony will seize them;
they will be in anguish like a woman in labor.
They will look at each other,
their faces flushed with fear.
9 Look, the day of the LORD is coming—
cruel, with fury and burning anger—
to make the earth a desolation
and to destroy its sinners.
10 Indeed, the stars of the sky and its constellations
will not give their light.
The sun will be dark when it rises,
and the moon will not shine.
11 I will punish the world for its evil,
and wicked people for their iniquities.
I will put an end to the pride of the arrogant
and humiliate the insolence of tyrants.
12 I will make a human more scarce than fine gold,
and mankind more rare than the gold of Ophir.
13 Therefore I will make the heavens tremble,
and the earth will shake from its foundations
at the wrath of the LORD of Armies,
on the day of his burning anger.

This is the word of the Lord.
The grass withers, and the flower falls,
but the word of the Lord endures forever.

Blessing
Jude 1:24-25 (CSB)

Now to him who is able to protect you from stumbling
and to make you stand in the presence of his glory,
without blemish and with great joy,
to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord,
be glory, majesty, power, and authority
before all time, now and forever.
