Reflection
Therefore the Lord is waiting to show you mercy,
and is rising up to show you compassion,
for the Lord is a just God.
All who wait patiently for him are happy.

Isaiah 30:18 CSB

Call To Worship
We confess the supremacy of God in Christ through both responsive reading and song.

Our Spoken Call to Worship
Psalm 95:1-2 NIV

Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD;
let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before Him with thanksgiving
and extol Him with music and song.

We come before you with hearts of praise,
giving you all the glory you deserve.

Lord God, You created the sun and moon, the earth and stars.
They proclaim Your praises day and night.

Together with all creation, we declare your praise,
worshiping you—our God, Savior, and Creator.

Our Sung Call to Worship
All Creatures of Our God and King

Verse 1
All creatures of our God and King,
Lift up your voice and with us sing
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Thou burning sun with golden beam,
Thou silver moon with softer gleam!
O praise Him, O praise Him!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Verse 2
Thou rushing wind that art so strong,
Ye clouds that sail in heaven along,
O praise Him! Alleluia!
Thou rising morn, in praise rejoice,
Ye lights of evening, find a voice!
O praise Him! O praise Him!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Verse 3
And all ye men of tender heart,
Forgiving others, take your part,
O sing ye! Alleluia!
Ye who long pain and sorrow bear,
Praise God and on Him cast your care!
O praise Him! O praise Him!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Verse 4
Let all things their Creator bless,
And worship Him in humbleness,
O praise Him! Alleluia!
Praise, praise the Father, praise the Son,
And praise the Spirit, Three in One!
O praise Him! O praise Him!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Confession
We confess our need for mercy through both responsive reading and song.

Our Spoken Confession
Isaiah 30:12,15 and The Worship Sourcebook

We have rejected your message;
we have chosen to flee from Your saving grace
and hide in our sin.

You offer repentance and rest in salvation,
but we want none of it.

Merciful God, in your presence we confess our sin
and the sin of this world.

Give us a heart of repentance.

Hear our pleas of sorrow and grief
as we recognize the magnitude of our wrongs against you.

Lord, have mercy on us.
Christ, have mercy on us.
Lord, have mercy on us.

Time of silent confession.

Our Sung Confession
Lord Have Mercy (For What We Have Done)

Verse 1
For what we have done and left undone
We fall on Your countless mercies.
For sins that are known, and those unknown,
We call on Your name so holy.
For envy and pride, For closing our eyes:
For scorning our very neighbor.
In thought, word and deed We’ve failed You, our King;
How deeply we need a Savior.

Chorus
Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy,
Lord have mercy on us.
Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy,
Lord have mercy on us.

Verse 2
For what You have done, Your life of love
You perfectly lived, we praise You.
Though tempted and tried, You fixed Your eyes;
You finished the work God gave You.
And there on the tree, A King among thieves,
You bled for a world’s betrayal.
You loved to the end, Our merciful friend;
How pure and forever faithful.

Chorus (Repeat)

Verse 3
For hearts that are cold, For seizing control;
For scorning our very Maker.
In thought, word, and deed,
We’ve failed You, our King;
How deeply we need a Savior.

Chorus (Repeat)

Assurance and Peace
We profess our assurance of salvation and peace in Christ through both responsive reading and song.

Remember the Gospel
Ezekiel 36:26 and Ephesians 2:1-10

Hear what the Lord has said:
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you;
I will remove from you your heart of stone
and give you a heart of flesh.”

We are no longer dead in our transgressions,
but alive together in Christ Jesus
who conquered sin and death.
Christ has given us mercy
through the cross and resurrection.

With all authority and sovereignty,
Christ willingly went to the cross for our sins.
And with that authority, he rose from the dead
so that we might live eternally with him in heaven.

Let us always remember—Christ is all.

Our Sung Profession of Assurance
O My Soul Arise (Distribution Song)

Verse 1
Arise, my soul arise, shake off your guilty fears.
The bleeding sacrifice on my behalf appears.
Before the throne my surety stands,
Before the throne my surety stands.
My name is written on His hands.

Verse 2
He ever lives above for me to intercede,
His all redeeming love, His precious blood to plead.
His blood atoned for every race.
His blood atoned for every race
And sprinkles now the throne of grace. (Chorus)

Chorus
O my soul arise, behold the risen Christ,
Your great High Priest, your spotless sacrifice.
O my soul arise, God owns you as His child.
Shake off your guilty fears, my soul, arise.

Verse 3
Five bleeding wounds He bears, received on Calvary.
They pour effectual prayers, they strongly plead for me.
“Forgive him, O forgive,” they cry,
“Forgive him, O forgive,” they cry,
“Don’t let that ransomed sinner die.” (Chorus)

Verse 4
My God is reconciled, His pardoning voice I hear.
He owns me as His child, I can no longer fear.
With confidence I now draw nigh
With confidence I now draw nigh
and “Father, Abba, Father,” I cry. (Chorus)

Celebration of the Lord’s Supper

Christ is All

Verse 1
I’ve found a treasure that can’t be taken;
Found a well that won’t run dry.
O worldly pleasure, be now forsaken;
Behold what love, what life is mine.

Verse 2
Could endless striving now make me righteous?
Could all my works now grant me hope?
Oh, hallelujah! The blood of Jesus—
my only plea, my only boast. (Chorus)

Chorus
Christ is all, Christ is all;
And my song will ever be.
Christ is all, all in all;
And my song will ever be: Christ is all.

Verse 3
And in the trial, when storms are raging;
Though tears may fall, my soul will rise.
For there’s a peace that is mine unchanging;
There is a joy that never dies. (Chorus)

Verse 4
When life is passing and strength is fading,
I’ll see the One that I adore.
Let this world vanish, oh give me Jesus;
My great desire, my true reward. (Chorus)

Thanksgiving and Petition

We Give Thanks in Prayer and Offer Petitions to God
We express our gratitude to God our Father for Christ’s work on the cross for us and bring our requests before him. In bringing our requests, we confess that we believe God truly is a good father, who cares about our needs and gives us what he knows is best.

We Give Thanks by Giving
We give financial offerings to support the work of the church because of our gratitude to God. By giving we confess we are trusting in God’s provision for us as well.
You may give electronically at gabcames.org/giving/ or place your offering in the boxes at the back of the sanctuary or send a check in the mail.

Scripture Reading
Isaiah 30:18-26 CSB
18 Therefore the LORD is waiting to show you mercy,
and is rising up to show you compassion,
for the LORD is a just God.
All who wait patiently for him are happy.
19 For people will live on Zion in Jerusalem. You will never weep again; he will show favor to you at the sound of your outcry; as soon as he hears, he will answer you. 20 The Lord will give you meager bread and water during oppression, but your Teacher will not hide any longer. Your eyes will see your Teacher, 21 and whenever you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear this command behind you: “This is the way. Walk in it.” 22 Then you will defile your silver-plated idols and your gold-plated images. You will throw them away like menstrual cloths, and call them filth.
23 Then he will send rain for your seed that you have sown in the ground, and the food, the produce of the ground, will be rich and plentiful. On that day your cattle will graze in open pastures. 24 The oxen and donkeys that work the ground will eat salted fodder scattered with winnowing shovel and fork. 25 Streams flowing with water will be on every high mountain and every raised hill on the day of great slaughter when the towers fall. 26 The moonlight will be as bright as the sunlight, and the sunlight will be seven times brighter—like the light of seven days—on the day that the LORD bandages his people’s injuries and heals the wounds he inflicted.

This is the word of the Lord.
The grass withers, and the flower falls,
but the word of the Lord endures forever.

Sending
Having heard and confessed the Gospel, we are sent into the world on mission in Christ, which we express in both song and spoken word.

Sending Song
Christ the Sure and Steady Anchor

Verse 1
Christ, the sure and steady anchor
In the fury of the storm;
When the winds of doubt blow through me
And my sails have all been torn.
In the suffering, in the sorrow,
When my sinking hopes are few,
I will hold fast to the anchor;
It shall never be removed.

Verse 2
Christ, the sure and steady anchor
While the tempest rages on;
When temptation claims the battle
And it seems the night has won.
Deeper still then goes the anchor,
Though I justly stand accused;
I will hold fast to the anchor;
It shall never be removed.

Verse 3
Christ, the sure and steady anchor
Through the floods of unbelief;
Hopeless, somehow, O my soul now
Lift your eyes to Cavalry.
This my ballast of assurance,
See His love forever proved;
I will hold fast to the anchor;
It shall never be removed.

Verse 4
Christ the sure and steady anchor,
As we face the wave of death;
When those trials give way to glory
And we draw our final breath.
We will cross that great horizon,
Clouds behind and life secured;
And the calm will be the better
For the storms that we endured.

Ending
Christ, the shore of our salvation,
Ever faithful, ever true;
We will hold fast to the anchor,
It shall never be removed.
