Pre-Service Song
Speak, O Lord

Verse 1
Speak O Lord, as we come to You,
To receive the food of Your Holy Word.
Take Your truth, plant it deep in us;
Shape and fashion us in Your likeness;
That the Light of Christ might be seen today
In our acts of love and our deeds of faith.
Speak, O Lord, and fulfill in us
All Your purposes for Your glory.

Verse 2
Teach us Lord, full obedience,
Holy reverence, true humility.
Test our thoughts and our attitudes
In the radiance of Your purity.
Cause our faith to rise; cause our eyes to see
Your majestic love and authority.
Words of power that can never fail;
Let their truth prevail over unbelief.

Verse 3
Speak, O Lord and renew our minds;
Help us grasp the heights of Your plans for us.
Truths unchanged from the dawn of time,
That will echo down through eternity.
And by grace we’ll stand on Your promises;
And by faith we’ll walk as You walk with us.
Speak, O Lord, ‘til Your church is built,
And the earth is filled with Your glory.

Call To Worship
We confess the supremacy of God in Christ through both responsive reading and song.

Our Spoken Call to Worship
Isaiah 44:8, 21, 23 (NIV)

“Remember these things, Jacob,
for you, Israel, are my servant.
I have made you.
Return to me, for I have redeemed you.”

Sing for joy, You heavens, for the LORD has done this;
shout aloud, you earth beneath.
Burst into song, you mountains,
you forests and all your trees,
for the LORD has redeemed Jacob,
he displays His glory in Israel.

“Is there any God besides me?
No, there is no other Rock.
I know not one.”

Let us build our lives upon this Rock and none other.

Our Sung Call to Worship
Build My Life

Verse 1
Worthy of every song we could ever sing.
Worthy of all the praise we could ever bring.
Worthy of every breath we could ever breathe.
We live for You. We live for You.

Verse 2
Jesus, the name above every other name.
Jesus, the only one who could ever save.
Worthy of every breath we could ever breathe.
We live for You. We live for You. (Chorus)

Chorus
Holy, there is no one like You,
there is none beside You.
Open up my eyes in wonder
and show me who you are
and fill me with Your heart
and lead me in Your love to those around me. (Repeat vs 2 & Chorus)

Bridge
I will build my life upon Your love;
It is a firm foundation.
I will put my trust in You alone,
and I will not be shaken. (Chorus)

Confession
We confess our need for mercy through both responsive reading and song.

Our Spoken Confession
Worship Sourcebook (pg. 85)

Merciful God, in your gracious presence,
we confess our sin and the sin of this world.

Although Christ is among us as our peace,
we are a people divided against ourselves
as we cling to the values of a broken world.

We abuse your good gifts of imagination and freedom,
of intellect and reason,
and turn them into bonds of oppression.

Lord, have mercy upon us; heal and forgive us.
Set us free to serve you in this world
as agents of your reconciling love in Jesus Christ. Amen.

Time of silent confession.

Assurance and Peace
We profess our assurance of salvation and peace in Christ through both responsive reading and song.

Remember the Gospel
Based on Isaiah 44:22, Ephesians 22:8,9 (NIV)

The Lord, our Savior, says to us, his people,
“I have swept away your offenses like a cloud,
your sins like the morning mist.
Return to me, for I have redeemed you.”

In our brokenness and sin, we were separated from God.
By the blood of the lamb, we are redeemed,
and for God’s glory, we are saved.
Not by our own works but as a gift from God
so that no one may boast.

May the glory of the Lord
and his redemptive grace
forever by our joy.

Our Sung Profession of Assurance
I Need Thee Every Hour (Distribution Song)

Verse 1
I need Thee ev’ry hour, most gracious Lord;
No tender voice like Thine can peace afford.
I need Thee, O I need Thee; Ev’ry hour I need Thee!
O bless me now, my Savior, I come to Thee.

Verse 2
I need Thee ev’ry hour, stay Thou nearby;
Temptations lose their pow’r when Thou art nigh.
I need Thee, O I need Thee; Ev’ry hour I need Thee!
O bless me now, my Savior, I come to Thee.

Verse 3
I need Thee ev’ry hour, in joy or pain;
Come quickly and abide, or life is vain.
I need Thee, O I need Thee; Ev’ry hour I need Thee!
O bless me now, my Savior, I come to Thee.

Verse 4
I need Thee ev’ry hour, Most Holy One;
O make me Thine indeed, Thou blessed Son.
I need Thee, O I need Thee; Ev’ry hour I need Thee!
O bless me now, my Savior, I come to Thee.

Celebration of the Lord’s Supper

Come, People of the Risen King

Verse 1
Come, people of the Risen King,
who delight to bring Him praise.
Come all, and tune your hearts to sing
to the Morning Star of grace.
From the shifting shadows of the earth
we will lift our eyes to Him,
Where steady arms of mercy reach
to gather children in. (Chorus)

Chorus
Rejoice, rejoice,
let ev’ry tongue rejoice!
One heart, one voice;
O, Church of Christ, rejoice!

Verse 2
Come, those whose joy is morning sun,
and those weeping through the night.
Come those who tell of battles won,
and those struggling in the fight.
For His perfect love will never change,
and His mercies never cease;
But follow us through all our days,
with the certain hope of peace. (Chorus)

Verse 3
Come young and old from ev’ry land,
men and women of the faith.
Come those with full or empty hands,
find the riches of His grace.
Over all the world His people sing;
shore to shore we hear them call
The truth that cries through ev’ry age,
“Our God is all in all.” (Chorus 2X’s)

Thanksgiving and Petition

We Give Thanks in Prayer and Offer Petitions to God
We express our gratitude to God our Father for Christ’s work on the cross for us and bring our requests before him. In bringing our requests, we confess that we believe God truly is a good father, who cares about our needs and gives us what he knows is best.

We Give Thanks by Giving
We give financial offerings to support the work of the church because of our gratitude to God. By giving we confess we are trusting in God’s provision for us as well.
On the first Sunday of each month we have two offerings—one for the general fund and a second one for the benevolence ministry of our church.
You may give electronically at gabcames.org/giving/ or place your offering in the boxes at the back of the sanctuary or send a check in the mail.

Scripture Reading
Isaiah 43:14-44:5 (CSB) (Only Isaiah 43:14-21 will be read.)
14 This is what the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel says: Because of you, I will send an army to Babylon and bring all of them as fugitives, even the Chaldeans in the ships in which they
rejoice.
15 I am the LORD, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your King.
16 This is what the LORD says— who makes a way in the sea, and a path through raging water,
17 who brings out the chariot and horse, the army and the mighty one together (they lie down, they do not rise again; they are extinguished, put out like a wick)—
18 “Do not remember the past events; pay no attention to things of old.
19 Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it? Indeed, I will make a way in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.
20 Wild animals— jackals and ostriches—will honor me, because I provide water in the wilderness,
and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my chosen people.
21 The people I formed for myself will declare my praise.
22 “But, Jacob, you have not called on me, because, Israel, you have become weary of me.
23 You have not brought me your sheep for burnt offerings or honored me with your sacrifices.
I have not burdened you with offerings or wearied you with incense.
24 You have not bought me aromatic cane with silver, or satisfied me with the fat of your sacrifices. But you have burdened me with your sins; you have wearied me with your iniquities.
25 “I am the one, I sweep away your transgressions for my own sake and remember your sins no more.
26 Remind me. Let’s argue the case together. Recount the facts, so that you may be vindicated.
27 Your first father sinned, and your mediators have rebelled against me.
28 So I defiled the officers of the sanctuary, and set Jacob apart for destruction and Israel for scorn.

44 :1 “And now listen, Jacob my servant, Israel whom I have chosen.
2 This is the word of the LORD your Maker, the one who formed you from the womb: He will help you. Do not fear, Jacob my servant, Jeshurun whom I have chosen.
3 For I will pour water on the thirsty land and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your descendants and my blessing on your offspring.
4 They will sprout among the grass like poplars by flowing streams.
5 This one will say, ‘I am the LORD’s’; another will use the name of Jacob; still another will write on his hand, ‘The LORD’s,’ and take on the name of Israel.”

This is the word of the Lord.
The grass withers, and the flower falls,
but the word of the Lord endures forever.

Sending
Having heard and confessed the Gospel, we are sent into the world on mission in Christ, which we express in both song and spoken word.

Sending Song
Let the Nations Be Glad

Verse 1
Let the glory of the Lord forever be our joy,
May redemption be the theme of our song.
For by grace we have been saved,
And by grace we shall proclaim
To the corners of the earth that Christ has come. (Chorus)

Chorus
Let the nations be glad! Let the people rejoice,
For salvation belongs to our God.
Let the whole earth be filled with the praises of the Lord,
For salvation belongs to our God, let the nations be glad.

Verse 2
Through the ages gone before, through the trial and the sword,
Many saints and martyrs conquered, though they died.
Still we holding out the cross,
Crossing oceans suffering loss,
Shall endure all things to win the crown of life. (Chorus)

Verse 3
As Your holy church goes forth in the Holy Spirit’s power,
With the glories of the gospel to explain,
Now we pray Your kingdom come,
And we pray Your will be done,
For the honor and the glory of Your name. (Chorus)

As we go, may the glory of the Lord forever be our joy!
