Service Preview for Feb. 19th

Dear Church,
Here is the preview of this coming Sunday’s service.  We will be singing a couple of new songs: The Gospel Song and Only Jesus. Click on the links to the songs and listen to them a few times in order to learn them. We normally do not introduce two new songs in one service but these are some of the songs Pastor Eric is able to play.  We have a limited number of musicians and we have to choose songs they are able to play well.  Please be in prayer for Pastor Eric as he prepares to lead us in worship through song this Sunday.

Scriptural Call To Worship
Isaiah 6:1-7:
In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple.
Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.
And one called to another and said:
“Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!”
And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke.
And I said: “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts!”
Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a burning coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar.
And he touched my mouth and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for.”

Time of Reflection and Confession
After we read our call to worship together we will pause to silently reflect on the holiness and majesty of our God and confess our sin to our Great God and King.  A time of reflection and confess helps us to prepare our hearts for worship.  Often we come to congregational worship with many burdens, concerns and distracted by our own sin.  This is a meaningful time to confess all of these things and leave them at the foot of the cross and by faith ready our hearts to be filled with grace.

Worship in the Word
Message: Hope: The Anchor of the Heart
Colossians 1:3-5
Main point of this week’s message: The gospel produces in us faith and hope in Christ Jesus that in turn motivates us to love others, pray for others and give thanks to God for our church.

Celebration of the Lord’s Supper
The Lord’s Supper will be the final application of the sermon.  Take time this week to read 1 Cor. 11:23-32 as preparation for Communion.

Benediction
Hebrews 13:20-21
20 Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, 21 equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
